An incredible day out.
Year 5 have been studying all about the Mersey and it’s importance to Liverpool. Both classes set out to spend the day visiting some of the best things Merseyside had to offer.
After a small delay, we set off and headed straight for the Mersey. We arrived and hopped on to the famous Mersey ferry and had a fabulous tour from Liverpool all the way across to Birkenhead. The children managed to eat all their lunch on the ferry, whilst battling strong winds and very hungry seagulls.
We ventured into the town centre and made our way to the famous Cavern club were we visited the home of The Beatles and even got to sing a few classics with a live artist.
The whole day was fantastic and after a long journey home, I feel the day was a great success and really helped bring the topic unit alive.
Well done year 5.
