After months of hard work with Mr Bradwell and Mrs Dowden, the two Lacrosse teams made their way to New charter to compete in the Tameside games.

The teams had been working hard in after school club and were ready to take on Tameside. The B team played really well with Ellie Ja staring with 4 goals. The rest of the team were fantastic but just missed out on the semi-finals by finishing 3rd in their group.

The A team started fantastically well and managed to win all their group games finishing top and qualifying for the semi-final. They played against Millbrook and after it being 2-2, they played 3 sets of extra time and that couldn’t separate them. Finally the game went to a golden goal and after a mammoth effort Broadoak just fell short.

The A team would then have to play a 3rd/ 4th place playoff knowing that only the top 3 teams in Tameside would go to the Manchester games. The team played incredibly and managed to win. They had qualified for the Manchester games! A truly incredible achievement and bronze medals to match. A special mention to Sean S who received a star player award scoring 7 goals.

The children have since been to the Manchester games and represented our school with great pride. They were unable to progress any further but are already planning tactics for next year. Bring it on!!!

Well done to the lacrosse teams.
