On Wednesday 18th of July Broadoak were invited to attend the Tameside Inspire sports awards, celebrating the best of sport in Tameside.
A selected group of staff and next years Head boy and Head girl made there way to the village in Ashton and were welcomed by a bag of goodies and free drinks and treats (enjoyed by both staff and children alike). What a fantastic way to start!!
Each school was awarded their kite mark from the last academic year with Broadoak receiving a silver award. (gold this year)
The awards then began and the whole marquee went quite in anticipation of who would receive the first award for ‘using competitions to increase participation in school’ and to our delight, WE WON!! A fantastic achievement and a huge reward for all the staff that help around school with clubs.
A few more awards continued, then it was time for ‘The young ambassador of the year’ award. Our very own future Head boy (McKenzie) had no idea that the school had nominated him for his fantastic attitude and leadership this year. His face was truly a picture as his name was called out as the winner. A huge congratulations to McKenzie as he is a fantastical role model and his award is well deserved.
The evening was a great success and the children even found time to hang out with a couple of Great Britain athletes in the form of Beth Tweddle and Georgina Taylor-Brown.
A huge thank you to Tameside Games for the awards and well done Broadoak. These awards represent all the hard work and dedication our children and staff have put into sports this year. Bring on next year!!
